Elton warmed up the night before the Alaskan frost

Grandsons Landon and Colton Bobo enjoyed a week at the farm ...
Elton John didn't just perform last night at the Carlson Center in Fairbanks, he was an EVENT. Seated close but up in balcony seats with big screens providing even closer views of the musician, I watched as Elton John played and banged out tunes and sang with such force that it seemed unreal. It was like having him in your living room, providing heartfelt songs and beautiful piano melody all night. What a wonderful opportunity to be able to hear his voice and talent. http://www.newsminer.com/news/2008/may/30/elton-john-brings-his-definitive-hits-fairbanks/

Driving home now, watch out for moose, especially at night-if you can call it that at 11 and daylight. And then it frosted, froze and I hope you didn't have your plants out. Local florist, Lisa, said wait until after the first week in June. http://www.farmersalmanac.com/

Hello again

It'd been June of 2005 when I started the "Game Ranching in Alaska" blog...I had so much on it, it took forever to download and it was time to do a change up. So, I tried many titles but none were available..pardon the "Alaska Ice Queen" Blog title, but it was available and I wanted to steer away from primarily reporting about our game ranch and enter more about happenings in and around where I live here outside of Delta Junction, Alaska. Hence, the new blog has begun. With prompting from neighbors, friends and family-I decided to begin this blog. Names I thought on while traveling down the road to town, were "As the Barley Burns", "The Old and the Listless" - not "The Young and the Restless", "The Wind Tunnel" - remember Kelly's old establishment?, but quickly I just typed in Tundra Talk. So that covers it, I know our beautiful mountains and land doesn't necessarily reflect tundra...but it was catchy, you get it and it stuck.
